Mt Martha Set to Sizzle with Winter Market
With winter now kicking in on the Mornington Peninsula, locals and day trippers, are getting excited for the 2nd Mt Martha South Beach Market, which is promising a hot atmosphere with over 70 makers market stalls to shop at on Sunday July 7 at the Mt Martha House Lawn.
The last market, run by Mt Martha Event Company Unrivalled Events, saw 10,000 people attend during the day, creating a sense of real community and seeing stallholders report record sales, with some totally selling out of product. The Winter market will be held on the middle Sunday of the School Holidays and will provide parents with a great day out at one of the most spectacular markets in Australia's, with its 'Unrivalled' views of Port Philip Bay. This Market will see the addition of Kids Alley featuring kids market stalls and activities.
The Makers Market that sold out a month ago, will see some popular local stallholders return from the Easter Monday market but will also see a host of new stallholders to keep the market fresh, with around 20% of makers actually living in Mt Martha which pleases organizer Paul Harvey "It is great to see not only so many locals embrace the market by attending, but also the amount of local makers who will be present selling product. Mt Martha seems to be a real hotbed for creatives and we want to encourage that aspect even more as the market establishes itself. Our music entertainment on the day are also locals Sam O'Connell and Hangman Dan which is great. The winter market looks set to be a well attended again with lots of interest already, as people treat it like an event and plan to catch up friends which is great. We know it will be cold but aslong people rug up it will still be a great day out. We have some new hot food vendors, two coffee carts this time, mulled wine, beer and heated area to chill and chat plus some of Melbourne's most talented makers, so will be a great day in the village."
The Mt Martha South Beach Market will run from 10am until 3pm on Sunday July 7 at the Mt Martha House Lawn just off the Esplanade. It is a Free 'Dog Friendly' Event with Free Local Parking in the surrounding area. More specific market information including a list of stallholders can be found at www.mtmarthasouthbeachmarket.com.au
